Central Biobank Erasmus MC

The Central Biobanking facility at the Erasmus MC facilitates excellent scientific research using biomaterials. The facility allows researchers to collect, store and manage their human biomaterials in an efficient and standardized way, compliant with all current regulations and ethical standards.

The Central Biobank was founded in 2019 and the number of collections is growing. The collections range from a few samples to millions of samples per collection and a large variety of materials. We have ‘de novo’ collections as well as ‘further use’ collections which consist of materials initially stored for diagnostic purposes.
