Biothèque Hospitalo-Universitaire de Liège

The BHUL constitutes the institutional biobank of the CHU of Liège (university hospital center) which results from the merger of 6 active biobanks within different hospital departments, namely anatomopathologicy, clinical hematology, pneumology, gastroenterology, cardiology and genetics.
Collections of human body material include cells, human tissues, biological fluids (serum, blood, plasma, puncture fluids...) stored at -80 °C or -150°C. These collections are established from residual material from samples taken as part of an exploration or clinical follow-up or on the basis of a prospective collection carried out in patients meeting certain selection criteria. Human body material is sampled and stored according to standardized quality procedures to make it available to researchers, whether for basic, translational, clinical or applied (industrial) research.
